Please note that this is not just a Duvall or Carnation issue. It is a regional traffic and roads issue. The increased traffic coming from Snohomish County impacts Woodinville-Duvall Road and other East-West roads in our unincorporated area. The following information was taken from Unincorporated Area Community Newsletter email dated Nov. 2, 2026.

King County is inviting residents to share their input on the next phase of the Cross Valley Study during a public comment period from November 2–20, 2026. The study explores ways to reduce traffic disruptions caused by Snoqualmie Valley flooding by identifying a reliable travel corridor that can remain open during high water events. Rather than addressing flooding itself, the study evaluates which of the four existing Snoqualmie River crossings could most effectively stay accessible during floods.
The first phase of the study, completed in October 2024, narrowed the options to two potential routes for further review. Community feedback is now needed to help the County understand which factors residents value most in making this decision.
A public survey is available at: KingCounty.gov/Roads/Cross-Valley-Study. More project details, including pros and cons of each option, are available on the project website.
