As early as August 17, NE 128th Way, just west of Avondale Road NE, will close for up to eight weeks while crews replace a deteriorating metal pipe with a larger, fish-passable concrete box culvert. The project protects the roadway from future failure while improving stream habitat.

Traffic impacts: NE 128th Way will be closed to vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists. A signed detour will use NE 116th Street, Avondale Road NE, and SR 202. Short-term closures at the Avondale Road NE intersection may occur while cranes place culvert sections. Sheriff’s deputies will direct traffic, and delays are expected.
